We are instructed by scripture to do so, and it is imperative that we recognize that the only approach to the Father is through Jesus Christ.  Everything that we do is by the power and authority of Jesus Christ, who has had all things given to Him by the Father.  We are commanded to do all things, words and deeds in the name of Jesus Christ. It is a way of life.
